1811 - Edward Robertson is recommended as a proper person to be commissioned first Lieutenant in a company of Calvary attached to the first regiment in the room of John Worsham, removed. 1811 - Littlebury Royall, foreman, Spencer Thomas, Kinnan? Harper, Wm. Crable?, John Crable?, Jn.o Royall, Wm. Fitzgerald, Jr., Wm. Dunnivant, Chas. Knight, Jr., Coleman Knight, Lewellyn, Jn.o Butler, Jn.o Clarke, Daniel Allen, Tho.s Wells, Wm. Featherston & Wm. Moore were sowrn as a grand jury of Inquest for the body of this county & having rec.d a charged, retired from the bar to consider of their presentments. 1814 - On the motion of Charles Knight, Jr., leave is given him to keep an ordinary at his house in this county until the first day of May, next, he having given bond with security according to law. (Nottoway Co., VA, Deed Book 7, pg. 60, May Court 1814).
1815 - John Mills against Coleman Knight and Charles Knight: This day came the parties by their attornies (sic), and the defendants relinquishing their former plea, their attorney saith that he is not informed to give any other or further plea for them; therefore it is considered by the court that the plaintiff recover against the defendants the sum of two hundred and twenty dollars, the debt in the declaration mentioned, together with his costs by him in this behalf expended, and the said defendants in mercy etc. But this judgment is to be discharged by the payment of thirty-three pounds with legal interest thereon from the twenty ninth day of March one thousand eight hundred and twelve until payment and the costs. 1815 - September 25, Deed (Nottoway Co., VA, Bk.4 p.614). Coleman
Knight of Nottoway Co. was indebted to Charles Knight, Jr. of
Nottoway Co. and borrows money from William Dunnivant in order
to pay Charles, Jr. Mentions Woodson Knight of Kentucky. Says
Coleman lives on 175 ac. tract.

1816 - Ordered that Charles Knight, Jr., Peter Jones, John Bradshaw, William Fowlkes and Joseph B. 1819 - Charles, Sr. apparently died (or early 1820) - was listed in
personal property tax records for 1819 but not counted in Census
of 1820. Charles Knight, Jr. becomes simply Charles Knight.
1819 - Charles, Jr. received 130 ac. from Charles, Sr. (Nottoway Co. Land Tax records, 1820). "A deed of trust from Charles Knight, Sr. and Mary his wife to Charles Knight, Jr. was exhibited into court with certificates as well as the acknowledgment thereof before two of the magistrates of this county as of the privy examination of the said Mary, and ordered to be recorded." 1819 - Charles bought several items totaling $149.75 from the estate
of Owen Smith, his uncle, in Prince Edward County, VA.
1819 - "James Borum, Jr. who has been convicted of suffering unlawful
gaming in his tavern on the 26th day of December 1818 and who
stands bound by a recognizance for his appearance this day to be
dealt with according to law, appeared accordingly, and thereupon
the said James Borum, Jr. and Charles Knight (Jr.?), his
security acknowledged themselves to be indebted to Thomas M.
Randolph Governor or chief Magistrate of the Commonwealth of
Virginia in the sum of five hundred dollars, to be levied of
their goods and chattels lands and tenements and to our said
Governor and his receptors for the use of the Commonwealth to be
rendered - Yet if the said James Borum, Jr. shall keep the peace
and be of good behaviour towards all the citizens of the said
Commonwealth - especially if he abstain from all violations of
the Act of ? against unlawful gaming for the space of twelve
months from this day, then this recognizance is to be void.

Smith, his uncle, in Prince Edward Co., VA. Their names were
Clarrisa? or Salinda and Amelia. He paid $330.00 and $315.00,
respectively.
